A LITTLE DIDDY ABOUT THE BANDS

MONGOOSE
http://www.mongooserocks.com/html/home.htm

In under 24 minutes, Vancouver-based Mongoose blast through 14 tracks and almost as many different styles, all held together with the punk rock ethos that you can do what ever you want with 3 chords and a garage. Mix the incredible multi-instrumental talents of Shock, a
virtuoso guitarist that will bring you to your knees in awe, the driving bass lines of Johnny Wildcat (who ain't no slouch behind the sound board either), the power drumming of DOM, and the steady vocal performance of rc… leaves most people with their mouths gaping wide open at these 4 great musicians tearing up the stage.
There is pre Mongoose- that is not knowing what it is to have heard or seen such a great band.
And then there is after Mongoose, where they will certainly be your new favorite band.

THE SMEARS
http://www.thesmears.ca/
http://www.myspace.com/thevancitysmears

Combining elements of both old and new school punk and rock with the addition of undeniably beautiful melodies, The Smears create an indestructible intense style flooded with passion and emotion.
Powerhouse drummer Angela Creamer, paired with the uninhibited soaring vocal stylings and guitar playing of Rene Botha, founded The Smears in late 2000 in Vancouver British Columbia. The band quickly received
praise and admiration from the Vancouver music scene, while also gaining a rapidly growing loyal fan base. Their success subsequently led to countless sold-out shows on the coast, and opportunities to share the stage with the likes of Mudhoney, The Swinging Utters, and
D.O.A. only to name a few.
Phenomenal live...to say the least...through their set... the Smears get taken over with their power to rock...and they will take you with them in that exhiliration of pure driven rock...
Buckle your seat belts...we got a live show here you don't want to miss!

RIO BENT
http://www.riobent.com/
http://www.vancitybands.com/bands/152/

Who the fuck is Rio Bent, you ask? Well, imagine a 17-year-old Brody Dalle fronting a couple of 19-year-old Distillers. At least that's how Billy Pettinger of Billy and the Lost Boys describes lead singer Allie Sheldan, her guitarist brother Kurtis, and latest addition Dan Stenning on drums. If that's still got you wondering why the White Rock trio has been honoured as best new local act, a listen to tunes like "2 Feet" and "Breaking Down" should blow away any doubts.
Melodic, passionate, and with dynamics to spare, the four-minute epics show that Rio Bent has already graduated Songwriting 101 with honours

4 TRACK MIND
This new band to the local scene in Vancouver is one...made up of musicians coming from a long track record of successful bands. Formed with members formerly of Econoline Crush and the Nasty On and SNFU as well as Ken Flemming from The Royal McKenzies...this band promises to rock you silly with a new wave punk sound resembling some of the favorite sounds we endear from the Pixies. Female front, Brooke Torrie, promises to tear you up with her sexy voice and banshee out on you with her passionate stage performance...
Not a band to be missed...

What a night...
