Event Description

Thee Oh Sees
http://www.theeohsees.com/

Psych/garage band from San Francisco, touring in support of current album "Floating Coffin", on Castle Face Records.

Thee Oh Sees are the latest incarnation of songwriter, singer, and guitarist John Dwyer’s ever-evolving pop-folk psychedelic group. Dwyer, who hails from Providence, RI, has been active on the San Francisco indie scene since the late ’90s, working with several bands, including the Coachwhips, Pink & Brown, Yikes, Up Its Alive, and Swords & Sandals, among others, and he formed OCS (which is an acronym for Orinoka Crash Suite, Orange County Sound, or whatever Dwyer decided it was on any given day) initially as a vehicle for the experimental instrumentals he was producing in his home studio.

In time OCS morphed into an actual band, and worked under the usual flurry of names, most notably as the Oh Sees or the Ohsees , and eventually as Thee Oh Sees, featuring Dwyer on guitar and vocals, Brigid Dawson on vocals and tambourine, Petey Dammit (sometimes listed as Petey Dammit! on bass, and Mike Shoun on drums.

The Blind Shake
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Blind-Shake/62488177468

The Blind Shake are a detuned, garage-stomp, punk trio from Minneapolis, MN. Two brothers, Mike and Jim Blaha, front the band and play baritone and regular guitar respectively, while longtime chum Dave Roper plays drums.

Known for ferocious live shows and collaborations with psychedelic noise legend Michael Yonkers, The Blind Shake have toured North American basements and bars for several years and have released six albums and a handful of singles.

“Minneapolis trio The Blind Shake, comes at it with the militaristic precision of a hardcore band, dispensing with the solos and boozy hollering, and attacking with concise, laser-point body blows” —The A.V. Club/The Onion

OBN III's
https://www.facebook.com/OBNIIIs

OBN III’s started as a threat. In January 2010 that threat became a reality when they played their first of many shows at Beerland in Austin, TX. Orville Bateman Neeley III, the band’s singer and namesake, teamed up with Matt Hammer on drums, Jason Smith and Andrew Cashen on guitars and Graham Low on bass at the very end of 2009. With the intention of filling a spot on the show calendar this new band came together in two weeks with a 30 minute set of material. Success! Before long OBN III’s were playing every week in Austin, or so it seemed. Summer 2010 brought their first attempts at recording themselves aside from recording shows off the venue’s mixing board. Three people took interest (in releasing said material). Early the following year (2011) three 7” records were released, one on Super Secret Records of Austin and two on Tic Tac Totally of Chicago. During SXSW in March of 2011 the boys gave a monumental performance on the patio of Beerland for many hundred streetwalkers from all over the world, later reviewed twice by NME online. September 2011 marked the release their first full length ‘The One and Only’ on Tic Tac Totally records which has been lauded as the great return of rock’n‘roll and so on. OBN III’s first tour in Summer 2012 furthered the listening public’s suspicion that these are in fact the new gods. October, 30 2012 marks the release of their latest full length LP in stores near you. See them, hear them, feel them when they hit the road again in early 2013.
