Event Description

The Rio Theatre is pleased to present a Film + Music tribute evening on Wednesday, July 3, celebrating what many believe to be one of the most important and influential American rock bands in history: Big Star (Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, Jody Stephens and Andy Hummel).

The evening will start with the Western Canadian Premiere of Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me, a feature-length documentary about the dismal commercial failure, subsequent massive critical acclaim, and enduring legacy of pop music's greatest cult phenomenon, Big Star, followed by a live tribute featuring performances from Louise Burns Music, Darius Minwalla ( The Posies), Malcolm Biddle (Sun Wizard) and Devon R Lougheed (beekeeper).
