On May 20th, one of our brothers in music passed away. Tim McGuinness was a true legend and partner in crime with us all in this musical wasteland. Timfest is a coming together of friends and music fans alike to celebrate the music and the good times. Those were two of Tim's favorite things and on this night we bring both. All bands involved have been with Tim's musical endeavors over the many years of his time in Vancouver's music scene. We feel the need to send our brother out with music.
THIS IS AN EARLY SHOW!! Doors will open at 6 and bands must be done by 11 due to a Vancouver noise by law at Pub 340. However, everyone will be welcome to stay to reminisce and drink until closing at 1 am. Having this event was key to do it at this venue and on this block in the city. This area was Tim's stomping ground and jam spot of choice. Pub 340 itself, was one of his favorite places to play and it is the most appropriate venue for this party. Thank you Sharon! So let's make it happen!!
Good friends of Tim, Burn Hollywood Burn will kick off the evening. Tim's band from 2006-2010, Last Plague will then play their first show in 3 years. After that will be a band that Tim was very fond of called Carpenter, featuring Dan who spent 7 years with Tim in Vancouver's legendary All State Champion. There is even rumblings of a super secret special band reunion towards the end of the night.... There is no cover charge. This isn't about raising money for a cause or people profiting. We will have a donation box available as we are trying to get some funds together to have a permanent plaque planted in the Cambie in front of Tim's beloved bar seat. Any band merchandise sold will go towards that also.
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
Non-profit run and created by the community, ArtsVictoria.ca integrates current event listings and multimedia arts portfolios, and creates an explorable, living archive of the arts in Victoria BC.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
