In Concert:: Sarah Jane Scouten , Elise Boeur

Montreal-based folk and country songwriter Sarah Jane Scouten is touring her native West Coast this June, with several dates on Vancouver Island. Performing with Elise Boeur, an impressive fiddler also native to BC, the duo will be performing songs off Sarah Jane's record Magpie Waltz, which the Montreal Mirror calls, "an impressive genre LP" as well as her upcoming record, due to come out in early 2014. Her songs are faithful to a long-standing folk music tradition, but often spill over into modern themes that are outspoken and edgy, from homelessness to midwifery to tongue-in-cheek heartache songs and unabashed Canadiana.
