Le Vent du Nord is constantly on the road, playing 100+ concerts a year, mostly in North America and Europe. They have performed all across Canada, in over 40 US states, and in over 15 European countries (England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, Spain, France, Slovenia, Portugal, Switzerland...). Regular venues, college venues, and major festivals are booking them everywhere, and every performance is a hit!

Since its inception in August 2002, Le Vent du Nord have been enjoying rocketing success. They have received several prestigious awards, including a Juno. The band is now one of the most-loved Quebec folk outfits throughout the world. The group’s current line-up consists of singers / multi-instrumentalists Nicolas Boulerice, Simon Beaudry, Olivier Demers, and Réjean Brunet. Some of their songs come from traditional folk repertoire, while others are original compositions. On stage, these four friends achieve peaks of happiness they eagerly share with any and all audiences. Le Vend du Nord know how to deliver music that will move any crowd – to their feet and in their hearts! This is undoubtedly music of the here and now.

Yves Bernard - LE DEVOIR (CANADA)
2010 Top 5 World Music CDs. Le Vent du Nord with Orchestre symphonique de Québec (conductor: Airat Ichmouratov; symphonic arrangements: Tom Myron): In the folk world, this splendid symphonic fusion/infusion of Le Vent du Nord’s repertoire is nothing short of an event.

Olivier Robillard-Laveaux - VOIR MONTREAL (CANADA)
Le Vent du Nord blows on all fronts of traditional folk music and in all directions over the globe, with the band touring ceaselessly on the global scale. Le Vent du Nord just released an album that puts all traditional folk music naysayers to shame. Recorded live with the Orchestre symphonique de Québec almost a year ago to this day, this CD pushes back the limits of folk music. Tom Myron’s lush classical arrangements give wings to the tunes of the quartet led by Nicolas Boulerice (hurdy-gurdy), Simon Beaudry (vocals/guitar), Olivier Demers (violin/foot-tapping), and Réjean Brunet (accordion). One violin is nice, but thirty is better.

Alain Brunet - PREMIÈRE CHAINE FRENCH CBC (CANADA)
Le Vent du Nord Symphonique, the perfect fusion!

Jean Beauchesne - JOURNAL DE QUÉBEC (CANADA)
Le Vent du Nord’s reputation as a leading group in the traditional folk music revival movement is well known. This project’s interest resides in the symphonic accompaniements signed by the carriage’s fifth wheel: Tom Myron. The risk pays off. The strings and woodwinds provide a panoramic, almost cinematic soundtrack, tastefully carrying the melodies and vocal harmonies near the seventh Heaven. Simple, effective, moving - no choice but to admit that, after the Concerto for Ti-Jean Carignan, this CD could make history, not to mention the musicians’ own enthusiastic wows (Les larmes aux yeux).
