This unique project celebrates Victoria's rich cultural heritage through images created by its talented artists. The event marks the conclusion of an exciting fine art printmaking project made possible by the 150 People and Places Grant with the support of the greater Victoria Spirit Committee in partnership with the City of Victoria, the Province of BC, and the Department of Canadian Heritage.
The artists of Ground Zero worked 'plein air' at seven chosen historic sites over the summer months. Etchings, lino cuts, collographs and lithographic prints were developed in the Ground Zero Studio. Ground Zero Printmakers Society was incorporated in 1989, and is located in the heart of Chinatown. It has continuously operated an Open Studio Facility in printmaking for professional and emerging artists.
Ground Zero Visions of Victoria 2012 artists will be on hand to discuss their work and the project celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the City of Victoria.
We look forward to your attendance.
