Paper Cut Pony casts shadows of your dreams before you can dream them! Cut-outs, masks, ink shadows and live instrumentation weave together to create lyrical shadow art. Born at the Jubilee Hospital, raised in the sedated 'burbs of Sydney Australia,
Janet Walker ( AKA Paper Cut Pony) discovered storytelling and art at a young age as a powerful antidote to internal calamity and paralysing fear. She then discovered that puppetry was a universal language used in many cultures and has the power to unite, heal and give birth to small revolutions of mind and emotion.
For a recent project, Janet ( in collaboration with Vancouver's Mind of A Snail Puppet Co.) created a shadow puppet film to support the fight for freedom in West Papua. She also created an intimate art-experiment in which she invited a group of people into her bedroom, tucked them into her bed , sang them lullabies and projected live shadow drawings for them on the ceiling. Janet also works as a illustrator, a playwright and a curriculum designer for first nations youth programs. Paper Cut Pony can be found on the interweb at www.papercutpony.wordpress.com or you can contact [email protected] for more info or to book a show.

Camas Books & Infoshop is a not-for-profit, collectively-run bookstore and autonomous space located on Lekwungen Territory in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Camas opened its doors in September 2007 to provide a voice for anti-authoritarian and Indigenous perspectives, and to foster a spirit of education and openness within social struggles locally, regionally and globally. Since its founding, the store has hosted alternative learning forums, book launches, poetry readings, and other cultural events. In addition to serving as an organizational hub for various activist campaigns, Camas enjoys the support of Victoria’s queer community and has a well-deserved reputation as a place where people can get in touch with contemporary movements for social change.

“Camas is a place where people educate themselves, gather and organize, make stuff like patches, and have fun being activists” says Jon, one of the store’s younger collective members.
