When you're old and grey and still tattooed proudly but wrinkly, you'll tell your kids of the night that East Van metal took over Granville Street and invaded The Vogue Theatre. Beware short skirts and tourists, Perryscope Concerts and The Vogue Theatre bring you St. Bastard's Society featuring 3 Inches of Blood with Bison BC, Ancients and Vicious Cycles.
Raised in hell, forged by fire and harder than Krupp Steel, 3 Inches of Blood are one of the biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal. 3 Inches of Blood have been slaying the infidels of extreme music for nearly a decade. In that time, they've released four albums and toured with such acclaimed acts as Satyricon, The Black Dahlia Murder, Motorhead, Cradle of Filth or Exodus, just to name a few. They have crafted a number of undeniable anthems that crash, rip and roar like a Medieval battleground.
When Bison took its first step amps were scorched and drums were smashed. Their riffs are colossal and flow like a mighty river into a sea of fuzzed out shredding. Their message is punk rock angst and revolution, with the occasional nod to white wizards, the king of swine and a mythical beast called the "Stokasaurus".
Somewhere between sheer, apocalyptic heaviness and precise riffing, lays otherworldly Ancients. A Vancouver-based rock juggernaut forging crushing heavy metal evocative of veterans High on Fire and contemporary sonic craftsmen, Opeth. Ancients have combined f*#k-off-huge chords with mind-altering riffage that takes you on an unfamiliar trip.
The transplanted, 2-headed chopper riding bastard offspring of lizard people, The Vicious Cycles have taken over as the dirty bunch on wheels! Snarling engines, dark goggles, high handlebar sickle riding hoodlums going flat out on their murdercycles, prowling for kicks! They are howling hellcats humping a hot steel hog on a roaring rampage of rock and roll! The wildest of the wild ones. These cycle psychos lay waste to all with their motorpsycho-pathic cross-breeding of Guitar Wolf and Davie Allan!
