Three time Canadian Folk Music Awards Nominee and winner of two Irish Music Awards, sixteen year old Quinn Bachand already has a reputation as “one of the best Celtic guitar players in the world”. (Ashley MacIsaac) His love and passion for music are evident. “His priorities have always revolved around his own musical explorations and this commitment combined with his innate talent and gift are making him a much talked about artist among his older peers.” (Daniel Lapp)
What many are unaware of is that Quinn is also a prodigiously talented jazz guitarist, who is comfortable playing a range of styles, from Django Reinhardt to Lenny Breau. Quinn, who has performed at major folk and Celtic festivals nationally and internationally and has released two critically acclaimed Traditional Celtic albums, is excited to begin recording his debut jazz album later this year. Proceeds from ticket sales will help fund this project.
The Quinn Bachand Trio includes Oliver Swain on bass and vocals and Kelby MacNayr on percussion. Special guests include Gypsy Jazz guitarist Aaron Watson, fourteen year old Gypsy Jazz violinist Keito Bryce and others.
Music starts at 7:00 pm – first 45 minute set: Gypsy Jazz / second 45 minute set: Jazz Standards
