Event Description

This year our Garden Tour celebrates it’s 30th Anniversary and honours our inspiring founder Mrs. Ann Nation.

There is no other life once gardening possesses your soul. Connect with the glory of Spring. Your two-day ticket grants you exclusive passage to a hand-picked selection of enchanting private gardens in Victoria. Delight in the inspiration and joy of gardening.

Enjoy 11 of Victoria's most beautiful gardens. We hope the following descriptions will entice you to join us this year:

1
This is the all-time Rhododendron garden. Eight glorious acres overflow with species and hybrid varieties. Wander under towering evergreens on secret paths. Meander past swaths of Hellebores and Primula candelabra cascading along the little stream. This stunning garden is not to be missed.

2
Dramatic views of Piers and Saltspring Islands are framed by natural growth and make a unique garden experience. Tiered levels feature a hosta collection and many other interesting perennials. A special feature of this garden is a superb collection of refurbished antique trucks and machinery.

3
You will not believe it! This unique Mediterranean garden proves you can grow fabulous citrus and more in our climate – in the open. Discover over 350 varieties of fruiting trees, including lemons, oranges, apricots, loquats, olives and figs.

4
Serenity abounds in this true country garden on two acres in Royal Oak. It features a naturally filtered pond surrounded by a planted bog area. A bird paradise exists under a huge flowering apple tree. Keep watch for the moss chair.

5
Visiting this garden is a truly joyful experience. Here, artistic talent blends effortlessly with horticultural knowledge. Only ten years old, this half-acre garden features long enchanting vistas. Note: The front garden features deer resistant plantings.

6
Nine acres of spectacular gardens feature over 10,000 varieties of plants. Thirty-four different planting areas showcase what you can grow in the Pacific Northwest. This is a magnificent teaching garden.

7
This classic garden in Ten Mile Point features many unique and rare horticulture treasures masterfully combined and perfectly placed under towering evergreens. Make sure to note the gorgeous planted pots, they are truly inspiring.

8
Attention all plantaholics….this is the garden for you! This sunny south-facing city lot is a plant collector’s paradise with over 600 varieties of trees, shrubs and perennials. This garden has over 40 different types of hostas and also features a bog garden. The front garden is planted to discourage the deer.

9
This is a large country garden on a quiet lane. Massive oaks (one over 400 years old) tower over large perennial beds. Many exotic and unusual trees, shrubs and perennials have a home here. Also found at this garden is a decorative pond featuring the “king of plants,” the Gunnera.

10
This urban garden is not large and therefore contains only the choicest plant material. It demonstrates how to design a small space into a lush wonderland.

11
This large garden contains beautiful spring flowing shrubs and rhodos, quirky and rare perennials, heritage irises, and many, many treasures. Quaint and lovely!
