Event Description

Perhaps the greatest master of the Italian style in vocal writing was not an Italian at all but il caro Sassone, George Frederic Handel. What Handel was to the cantata and aria, Veracini was to the sonata. These two great masters are featured in a performance by three of Europe's finest baroque instrumentalists.

Violinist John Holloway and harpsichordist Lars Ulrik Mortensen thrilled concert-goers when they performed in Victoria in 2002-2003. Their frequent collaborations with cellist Jaap Ter Linden and other artists have won lavish critical praise. For this concert they are joined by "heavenly" Swedish baroque specialist, soprano Susanne Rydén.
