The Island President

Dir: John Shenk


The Maldives are “a cross between paradise and paradise,” says President Mohamed Nasheed, a man confronting a problem greater than any world leader has ever faced – the literal survival of his country and everyone in it – as climate change subsumes the island. Lost Boys of Sudandirector Shenk has little patience for naysayers who claim that global warming is a hoax. Shenk’s doc tackles the message from a compelling human-interest angle – by focusing on the messenger.
