Event Description

Society For Indian Classical Arts(SICA), a student club at UVic presents "An Evening of Indian Classical Music on Jaltarang, Sitar and Tabla" by Milind Tulankar (Jaltarang), Dr. Harvinder Sharma (Sitar) and Pandit Ramdas Palsule (Tabla).
Jaltarang (Jal=water, tarang=waves) is an ancient melodic percussion music instrument. It consists of set of bowls filled with water and struck with a wooden mallet. Milind Tulankar is India’s finest Jaltarang players. He will be performing along with Pandit Harvinder Sharma on Sitar and Pandit Ramdas Palsule on Tabla. Don’t miss this unique music experience with these award winning artists here in Victoria. Please see SICA's webpage (http://web.uvic.ca/~sica) for more information and a poster.
