Event Description
With new recordings on the horizon and a summer tour in the works, 2012 is shaping up to be a busy year for No Island! We’re looking forward to our next adventure, but we’re also feeling a bit like celebrating the past year, no short of adventures in its own right. And what better month to do it in than March, on the very same weekend of last year’s release party for our debut album, Sign of the Times.
We’ve put together an exciting lineup for this Anniversary Show, and we’re changing things up a bit with an early show in a different venue: Joe’s Apartment in the heart of the Granville strip. And don’t even get us started about the evening’s performers. They’re going to blow your mind!
Doors open at 7:30 pm
Music begins at 8 pm sharp.

= NO ISLAND =
No Island delivers a new brand of rock that blurs the lines between genres and generations. With well-crafted original songs and a unique sound complimented by keyboards and saxophone, No Island’s approach to rock is catchy, powerful, and sophisticated all at once.
Drawing from influences including Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Steely Dan, and Led Zeppelin, No Island has taken their love of innovative classic rock and channeled it in their own new direction, one further inspired by a wide range of different genres and modern influences.
Formed in 2009 by saxophonist James Wilfred Martin and guitarist/lead vocalist Keith Sinclair, No Island soon grew to include the talents of keyboardist/vocalist Andy Rice, bassist Sara Lauridsen, and drummer Mike Ferguson. Raised on rock and trained in jazz, each member of No Island shares a similar musical background in which they find their common ground.
No Island released their debut album, Sign of the Times, in the spring of 2011.
Bed of Stars is the outlet for the passionate and talented Evan Konrad, a twenty-two-year old prodigy from British Columbia with a flare for sensationalizing the emotive qualities of music.
After spending his formative years absorbed in assembling home-made bedroom recordings, Evan Konrad drew the attention of Juno-nominated producer Daniel Victor, the critically acclaimed entity behind the chart topping collaborative project known as Neverending White Lights. Victor was vastly intrigued by Konrad's vocal abilities, melodic songwriting, and ambitious musical perspective - immediately signing Bed of Stars to his Ocean Records imprint. This magical partnership soon flourished and resulted in the savvy debut release 'I Fell In Love In The City.
His many sides and shapes are only early signs of what Bed of Stars will have to offer during the long-winded flight of his discography. Quite simply, as Victor puts it; “He's what the world has been missing for a long time – True talent and ability that will breed longevity as an artist. This is something we've grown desperate for.”
Nominated for 3 Vancouver Island music awards last year, Victoria-based Isobel Trigger will bring a fresh pop-rock twist to your ever-longing ears. The music weaves a web of soft whimsical lyrics sweet shiny tones building and crashing into powerful crescendos.
Members Brett Faulkner (Guitar), Felicia Harding (Vocals) Kevin Lynch (Bass) and Zane Coppard (drums) each bring their own unique elements to the stage, filling the lungs of the music machine.
Isobel Trigger has been compared to The Cranberries, No Doubt, Florence and the Machine and Heart, but rest assured they are no copycats! The unique vocal stylings and eclectic melodies insure that nobody could sound quite like this band, and that's the way they like it.
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
