Critical...
DJ Critical has been releasing music for about 4 years. His early works in breaks earned him both vinyl and digital releases on UK labels such as Mechanoise and Waveshape Records. His single "The way I feel" gained him BBC Radio One play, on the legendary Annie Nightingale's show located in London. Later works went on such labels as Dusted breaks, and Nu Industry recordings, where the song "Hype the funk" got the remix touch by artists such as Calvertron and Tom EQ. He's collaborated on tracks with the likes of Xim and Bass during time in Spain, and more recently with The Lightshapers of London. As well, he's done remix work for artists such as Anti-science and N.U.D.L.Z., owner of Rapid Fire Records. Expect to see other works and collaborations on different labels due out mid 2011.
NoProfit...
NoProfit has been making noise for people to dance to with drum machines, computers, and records for a very long time.
2010 was a banner year for NoProfit. With 150+ DJ performances under his belt this past year, including his weekly residency at Dub Trax & Reggae Tune Tuesdays in Nanaimo, Friday Night on the main stage at the Carrington Bay Music Festival, Soundwave 2010, his weekly radio show, The Massive, on Nanaimo’s 101.7 FM CHLY, various club one offs, and raves & parties, NoProfit has been one of Vancouver Island’s busiest DJs. Aside from his live DJ sets, NoProfit is a skilled producer.
In early 2011, the Vipercorps & NoProfit, "Bassline EP" will be out on Calgary’s Breakz ‘R’ Boss Records (available on Beatport, Juno Download, and Trackitdown when released).
"Bassline - Original Mix" with JPrime & Finny of Vipercorps is the first track NoProfit had signed. Immediately following, he completed "Bassline - NoProfit D'n'B Remix" which was also signed, included on the Bassline EP, and is the first Drum & Bass track released on Breakz 'R' Boss Records.
Big things are on the horizon in 2011 for NoProfit! Stay tuned or be a four equal sided geometric shape!
Spoon...
Moving dance floors all across Vancouver Island with his mixed varieties of Drum n’ Bass and Break Beats. Starting his DJ career in 2004, Spoon has quickly rose to be one of the “Next Up and Comers”, affiliated with some of the larger Break Beat promotion crews, Breakbeat Island, 4the Music, 420 Kru and DB mint. Your not gonna know what this boy is gonna throw at you next, he is not one to be missed!
