Bonefish...
has been listening to dance music since he was in grade three...a little kid in big headphones rockin' out to club music on the playground. When he was a little older, he moved on to DJing at elementary school dances and eventually highschool parties before discovering the wide world of afterhours.
In his 9 years on the decks, he has dabbled in many genres from trance to breakbeat, electro to hip hop, and found that no matter what the music is, the most important thing is the dancers. Bonefish never disappoints, throwing down his characteristic bangin' electro, house, breaks and indie with slick mixes and cuts that keep everyone on their toes. His style has been described as the "Fuzzy Green Martian Electric Hippo-Shuffle," and he frequently hears "Turn up that C!*t Ticklin' Bass!"
In 2008, Bonefish formed Handcrafted with DJ A-WAX because four hands is better than two.
Bonefish has played some of the best local shows, such as Invasion, Bump In the Night, Shadowlands and many more, and opened for local favorites such as Mykee, PucK, Naomi Nice, Mz. Niko, Angry Samoan and The Firm.
DJ Ness-T...
aka: Vanessa Taylor tears up the house spinning solid beats encompassing a variety of genres. She favours deep, sexy basslines and rocking girl vocals. Always leaning towards to darker, rock n' roll of electronic music. Ness-T has established herself as a Victoria electronic music institution as a prodigy of Dj Bonefish (Josh Hodson), spinning at popular venues including: Hush, Evolution (now known as Rehab), Sunset Room, Paparazzi, QBAR, Jellyfish lounge, as well as spinning at private functions, beach parties and weddings.
Prior to studying theater at university, Ness-T developed her artistic talent as a successful cheerleader and a performer at Calgary's world renowned Calaway Park. She then moved on to choreography and teaching dance, eventually evolving into DJing.
Music has always been the driving force behind her creativity. Her philosophy on life is RHYTHM; being aware of the dance of life around you, and noticing where you can gracefully fit in. Music is a great companion to life. The soundtrack to your greatest day, and your deepest sorrow. All genres have their place and time, and there is no need to limit yourself to only one. Ness T strives to incorporate the best of each category, while simultaneously and beautifully blending it all together.
Her music is fresh, loud, recognizable yet nothing like you've heard before. Always just a little bit dirtier.... and a little silly.
