Event Description

Jessica Benini has been working hard on her album, to be released this June 9th at Upstairs Cabaret. Come watch her personality shine through with her dynamic performance, leaving your musical taste buds completely satisfied. Sharing the stage with Jessica will be, Head of the Herd, Emily Spiller and Angus Wilson.

Jessica Benini:
http://www.myspace.com/jessicabenini

Jessica is a Canadian British Columbian grown singer songwriter, beginning her journey of playing guitar at age 9. She is a self-taught musician who learned how to play by observing others and practicing their technique. Jessica is a transparent artist and observing soul that comes alive when she plays her heart out, and has found that songwriting is a way of being able to express her inner thoughts. She loves the Island life how gently everything moves and breathes. Being a musician on Vancouver Island, Jessica feels understood, free, playful and inspired. Her main goal and practice in life is to play publicly without apology.

Head of the Herd:
http://www.headoftheherdmusic.com/

The art of telling stories, of expressing emotion, of speaking with rhythm and register, has been a need of humanity since the very beginning. Without storytelling we have silence. Head of the Herd is opposite that silence – the music and sound of our lives.

Emily Spiller:
http://emilyspiller.com/

Emily Spiller is the next Adele, the new Duffy. A mix of Zap Mama & Feist meets Amy Winehouse. A mash up of blues, jazz, and soul infused vocals that simultaneously ache and soothe. The room falls silent when Emily sings. She finishes her set and leaves you wanting more.
