Event Description

QUIET KIDS are a bunch of ninnies and nincompoops. They are surly yet convivial, obstinate yet obsequious. Their careers in part-time alchemy turn leaden hearts to gold and make audience members feel more attractive in comparison to their grisly visages. Quiet Kids play electric guitars and drums and synthesizers and, yes, they even sing! Recently, they have redefined the wheel, become the best thing since sliced bread, and found a cure for rickets. They are despicable, lovable, palatable human beings and a pretty darned good band to boot.

PAINTED CITIES are one girl and three boys who make danceable, fun, quirky, emotional music that feels good and draws from a wide range of folk and rock elements. They sound like all the characters at a fair who grew up and became part of the carnival: different and twisted but unique and beautiful in their own ways. Their infectious, inventive songs have been heard at venues ranging from music festivals to all-ages community halls to the grittiest bars of downtown Vancouver.
