MOBADASS frontman Earl Pereira got his start in the music business as the bassist and co-founder of multi-platinum, three-time Juno nominee, Wide Mouth Mason. As a group, Wide Mouth Mason released five major label albums, performed over two-thousand shows, had numerous radio hits and music videos, and received many industry awards.
Looking for a creative outlet for his unique 'Island Rock' style of music, Pereira started MOBADASS as a side project in 2004. “I wanted to make music that would honour my Filipino-Canadian heritage, a project where I could mix reggae, electro- rock, dance, and soul...I’m just lucky that people ended up loving it!” said Pereira in a recent interview.
Pereira’s crowd-pleasing stage presence, and his ability to connect with and excite an audience, has earned MOBADASS the reputation of a band that packs the house. Their high-energy live shows and catchy original songs have made MOBADASS a favorite of fans and promoters in the venues of Western Canada.
