Awards and Carolling on Spirit Stage: 6:15 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Participate in this fun, inaugural carolling competition downtown. Organize friends, family or coworkers to dress up and sing carols for 15 minutes at three designated outdoor locations for a chance to win cash prizes for singing and best costumes. Return to Spirit Stage for awards and a group sing-along.
The 1st Annual Victoria Figgy Pudding Carolling Competition is a fun and heart warming event that will bring the voices of Victoria to downtown street corners. To participate in this inaugural event, you do not need to be able to sing well. Whether you're a beginner singer or a seasoned caroller, there is a category for you.
Each carolling group will sing carols for 15 minutes at three outdoor locations downtown. Carols can be repeated at each location. The event will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010, rain or shine, as part of the City of Victoria's annual Spirit of the Season in the Square holiday celebrations.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for best singing and costumes, so dress in traditional choral attire or the most outrageous Christmas costume you can find!
Group Categories
A roaming panel of local celebrity judges will judge one of your three performances. A cash prize will be awarded to the winning group in each of the following categories:
o Large Group or Choir (5 or more)
o Small Group (4 or less)
o Local Business or Organization (any size group) This category should be about sheer fun!
o Best Dressed Group
If your group fits into one of these categories, we'd love to have you come out and sing!
All ages are welcome. Registration is free.
