Event Description
Victoria was rocked by Poetry Slam at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word last month! This month the goodness continues with our first slam of the new season happening at Cabin 12 on Pandora Ave. Poets will go head to head for bragging rights and you will come along to cheer, boo and judge them. It's all part of the fun.
In between rounds you will be treated to the genius of Mike McGee. “Mighty” Mike McGee is an international spoken word artist, writer, performer, speaker, slam poet and comic. He has performed in thousands of venues all over North America, and was one of the first Americans ever to perform poetry at the University la Sorbonne in Paris, France.
Mike has a mighty appetite, an uncanny relationship with ladybugs, several tattoos and siblings, and a passable Scottish accent. He breathes somewhere between Silicon Valley, California and Vancouver, B.C. as often as possible. Mike thoroughly enjoys weather, beverages, and the scent of mock orange blossoms in the spring.
So please come out, tell your friends and make them come with you! Have a beer and judge away because this is one of the few places no one will tell you not too. Hell, we even encourage it. See you there!
