Victoria BC Ska Society is proud to present you The Slackers and Chris Murray on our special edition Friday ticketed show at Ship Point (Inner Harbour). Joining them will be Seattle stewards of ska - The Georgetown Orbits. For years the Georgetown Orbits have graced Victoria Ska Festival audiences with their presence while they stood in line waiting to get into various festival shows. They also would play off stage in between breaks and busk around town during the festival spreading the good news! The Slackers have been one of Victoria's favourite ska bands since the spring of 2000 when they first came to The Limit (*an old great live venue in Victoria) and Chris Murray has also been a huge part of the scene since 2000 and before. Both the Slackers and Chris Murray have played on the Victoria Ska Festival back in 2000, and 2003 respectively. Chris Murray played in 2000 at Market Square and then again in 2003 at the Victoria Curling Club. The Slackers played in 2003 at the Victoria Curling Club headlining the festival. This show is one of the most anticipated shows for Victoria's 10th Anniversary Ska Festival and the Slackers were the first to confirm! Let's make this one the first to sellout!
Following this show Vic Ruggiero from the Slackers will be playing his solo material at Lucky Bar (517 Yates Street - just blocks away from Ship Point) alongside Chris Murray in a special acoustic set. There will be a very small amount of advance tickets sold for this show. Please note you must be 19yrs+ with approved ID (2 pieces) to get into Lucky Bar.
See you there!
