$15 at the door - all ages welcome!

Juno Award winner Hugh Fraser, composer, pianist and 2008 National Jazz Trombonist of the year kicks off the New Year with yet another highly
original, unique and artistic sound cellabration at Hermann’s!

Three Play will present an intensley personal improvisational interplay founded on the virtuosic Hammond B3 organ playing of Vancouver’s Bob Murphy. An allumni of Gil Evans and Freddie Hubbard, Murphy is one of the few masters of this powerful blues based instrument in the world. Murphy has build on the blues and bop
innovations of Jimmy Smith and modernist Larry Young and has defined a new standard of artistic innovation for the 21st Century on this
magnificent instrument through his fluent and effortless melodic, chordal and bass functions, through the use of the organ pedals, all
simultaneously in a manner that would boggle Bach!

Lighting a fire under Murphy and Fraser will be the powerful and diverse Dave Robbins on drums revealing the depth and versatility of Three Play as they change instrumentation and move from trios to duos burning with the intensity and passion of McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones.
