Event Description

Bonehenge
features five of Canada's finest trombone artists with the contemporary piano, bass and drum accompaniment will perform Fraser's smooth, big brassy versions of his familiar compositions that
range from West African, Cuban, Blues and Bop flavors plus rarely performed 12 trombone and rhythm arrangements Hugh was
commissioned to write and perform on the Slide Hampton's World of Trombone concert and recording tour, released on MCG records in the Eastern U.S.A.

Seven guest trombonists will join Bonehenge for the last show and create an unforgettable sonic and visual experience on these compositions, and send the gathering of brassophiles into the holidays with several specially set familiar holiday classics!!!

Fraser leads this unique combination of fellow artists that creates incredible excitement while maintaining a full, lush brass sound.
The biggest compliment Fraser has received from musicians and audience members alike is that because of the artistry of the players and compositions,
"I soon forgot the unique similar instrumentation of trombones and
simply enjoyed a warm, new musical experience!"
Smoother than cellos, brasher than a big brass band, as lyrical as
voices, and out of the homogenized ensemble comes improvisational
individuality that makes it hard to believe that the same instrument has so many possibilities with it's five octave range, a design that is virtually unchanged in over 500 years, and the ability to speak at inaudible softness to moving air waves at a rate only matched by the
engine of a 747 jet!!
