Jazz Festival Sessions: Three Tuesdays in June at VPL

Jazz Festival Sessions give you a taste of the music, the history, and the magic of jazz. Join our jazz experts for lively presentations that will get you primed and ready for the TD Canada Trust Vancouver International Jazz Festival.

This year the Sessions are introducing the launch of JazzStreet Vancouver, an online historical scrapbook about the history of jazz in Vancouver. JazzStreet Vancouver goes “live” on the World Wide Web June 20, 2008, the opening day of the TD Canada Trust Vancouver International Jazz Festival.

Tuesday, June 17--JazzStreet Vancouver: Treasures from the CBC Archives with Colin Preston and Paul Grant

Join Media Archivist Colin Preston and Paul Grant of CBC Radio One’s “Hot Air” as they unlock the CBC Archives vault for a night of rarely seen performances by local jazz giants including vocalist Eleanor Collins and pianist Chris Gage.
