Thornbird & Hayfa Makes Music will be sharing the intimate stage at Cafe Mont Montre to deliver an night of dancing, music, and guit-fiddle beats.
Thornbird is a young band from Vancouver BC that is set to mark their own place in the Vancouver music scene. In November 2007, when the founding members of Forecast joined forces with guitar player Corey Fenton, Thornbird was born. Corey, after being introduced by lead singer Josh Larsson (Forecast), moved from Kamloops to Vancouver to play guitar for the group. Rounding out the lineup is Ryan Krumins on lead guitar (The Reasonable Men, Forecast), and Sam Buckle (Forecast, Otis) on drums. Their sound is an indescribable fusion of Reggae, Blues, Hip Hop, Acoustic, and Rock influences. With a wide range of influences, their music can truly be called their own.
Hayfa Makes Music is an energetic collaboration of guitar-fiddle beats coming from Vancouver, BC. Inspired by adventure, movement, silliness and LOVE, the band's music spurs audience involvement and invokes the most creative of spirits. Hayfa Makes Musics blend of rich lyrics, energetic beats, and foot-stomping fiddle weaves together folk, reggae, funk and rock. The music is born in an intricate patchwork of experiences from travels throughout West Africa, Asia, and North America, delivering thought-provoking, contagious music.
