Jon & Roy Bio

Jon & Roy are:

Jon Middleton - Guitar, Vocals, Harp
Roy Vizer - Percussion
Dougal Bain Maclean - Mandolin and Violin

Based out of Victoria, B.C., Canada, Jon Middleton has been playin’ ‘round the Canadian West Coast for over 5 years now. His style blends his favourite musical loves into an acoustic mix of folk/reggae/hip-hop and whatever else he finds appealing. The music is chilled out yet thought provoking as lyrics range from light-hearted to emotion-filled. For the past 3 years, Jon has been involved in a project with friend Roy Vizer. Last year they recorded an album entitled ‘Sittin’ Back’, a collection of 13 songs written over the past 2 years or so. As the name implies, ‘Sittin Back’ is a chilled out album full of reggae grooves, latin percussion, and acoustic guitar. However, with all its eclectic attributes it retains an easy accessibility.

After a year of promoting ‘Sittin’ Back’ locally, Jon is now in the process of spreading his music beyond the borders of B.C. A new album, ‘After a Trip’ has just been recorded and will be released in the Spring. Touring around Western Canada and the Western U.S. is also in the works for Spring/Summer of 2006.
