Event Description

For eight years this trio of brother and sister Kelt and Colleen Eccleston and their ‘adopted brother’ multi-instrumentalist Greg Madill have been captivating audiences with their unique musicality, riveting original material, stunning harmonies and energizing stage presence.

They are nomads of a sort all growing up all across Canada from Vancouver to Newfoundland and offering a vantage point rare in contemporary folk /pop music. There is a joy here of performing, a sense of humour, a purpose, that brings audiences everywhere to their feet and leaves them with a song in their heart. Voted “The best live act on Vancouver Island” 2004 MPOWER Awards, they have toured extensively.

With 4 CDs to their credit, they are just as comfortable with their traditional roots as they are as accomplished songwriters.

Their instrumentation features pennywhistle, guitar, bass, Irish bouzouki, mandolin and bodhran. Everyone writes, everyone sings. To quote Irish music icon Ron Kavana, “The Ecclestons are like an old-fashioned folk band, with real songs, real harmony”. Released in November 2005, their latest CD, Release the Hounds, is all original material and is distributed in Canada by Warner Music.
