Event Description
retchen Peters is, as she puts it, the product of a liberal upper-middle class family, a father whose writings pissed off defenders of the status-quo, a divorced single mom who fled to the hippie town of Boulder, Colorado to escape the suburbs, and nearly twenty years of living "right smack in the buckle of the Bible belt among the good old boys and the bad old music business." With an early ability to express her discoveries through words, she has always been a songwriter. She wrote hits for Martina McBride, The Neville Brothers, Faith Hill, Etta James, Trisha Yearwood, Bryan Adams and George Strait and finally won herself a recording contract... and the right to reject the Nashville assembly-line model and "gratuitous co-writing". With her arrestingly pure voice and passion for song she creates and delivers a spellbinding and unforgettable performance.
