One of the top death metal acts in Europe, Amon Amarth is one of fiercest bands you could ever hope to see live. What sets the Swedish quintet apart, besides its masterful shows, is its use of Viking imagery and mythology and its epic, memorable melodies. Since 1992, the brutal act’s solemn yet barbaric approach to heavy music has been winning fans all over the world. Its 1998 Metal Blade debut, One Sent from the Golden Hall, is a milestone of the form that earned Amon Amarth tours with metal masters like Deicide, Six Feet Under, and Brutal Truth. Albums The Avenger and The Crusher followed, culminating with the breakthrough Fate of Norns.

With the release of With Oden On Our Side, the band’s sixth studio album, Amon Amarth comes crashing through the barricades with majestic riffs, thunderous drums and roaring vocals. A fearsome and deadly unit live, the band—which took part in the Sounds of the Underground Tour this past summer--is heading out on its very first headlining tour in North America, where its 2004 DVD Wrath of the Norsemen has gone gold.
