after the notoriously overpacked and ridiculously drunk trash palace 2 w.fuck me usa, the rumours and channels 3&4 we are happy to present....
Friday January 30th
The Piccadilly Pub - 620 W. Pender St
Vice Magazine, The Gentlemens Club and Casbah! present
TRASH PALACE III
featuring
ELIZABETH
THE RAIN and THE SIDEWALK
BLUE SCIENCE
The Gentlemens Club, Casbah! and Vice Magazine present the follow up to last falls most notorious sold-out happening, Trash Palace 2 which featured a celebration of burgeoning local new wave and synth punk acts including Fuck Me USA and Ch. 3&4.
For Trash Palace 3, we decided to explore Vancouvers most exciting post-punk bands. Shindig runner-up Elizabeth have recently become this citys most hyped new outfit with an exciting clash of the angular rhythms of Gang of Four and the atmospherics of late Joy Division. This will be their first gig since their breakout at the Shindig final and their second last before they head into the studio to capture their progressive sound.
Either you love or hate the one-man band, The Rain and The Sidewalk. His music sounds like a lonely youth trapped in basement trying to cover his early Factory Records collection, from punk dance A Certain Ratio to Joy Division, the blueprints to todays leading post-punk bands are here. What makes The Rain and The Sidewalk unique is his one-man band approach, with just a guitar and a synthesizer banging out a simple skeleton of a beat, he eerily recreates the offerings of a full live band.
Finally Blue Science are a new outfit that is friends with Ch 3&4, with only a few shows under their belt they stop by Trash Palace 3 to make the definitive statement on synth punk.
Plus the MOST assorted array of the cities drunkest DJs from Fuck Me USAs Kayla & the Ewok's&CBC RADIO's Mar to CiTR stalwart Robert Robot.
Get wasted or be a waste of space.
