Event Description
Vancouver-based original rock band Four Lane Change began in September 2002 when South African born vocalist/guitarist Paul Frew teamed up with Australian lead guitarist, Bernie Cordukes, to work out some songs Paul had written during his life in Africa, Europe and North America. In March 2003 Paul & Bernie met Canadian born drummer/comedian Russell Garner, and formed an instant friendship, bringing him on board immediately. The band officially began as Four Lane Change in May 2003 when South African friend and bass guitarist Tracey Meintjes returned to Vancouver and came on board to complete the four-piece guitar band with a smokin rhythm section.
Sound With a fresh British sound and a dose of Australias passion for hard rock, melodic and alternative rock tunes emerge that will have you humming along for days after hearing this band play. Think Red Hot Chili Peppers meets U2, and REM meets Coldplay, all from an original four piece guitar band, and youre starting to get the picture. Lyrics range from love, life, loss and introspection, to God, spirituality, and the meaning of our lives on earth.
Venues Four Lane Change began by testing their material in smaller venues such as Myles of Beans, Starry Dynamo Caf, Purple Crab, Jacks Dining lounge and Coastal Church, and quickly secured a regular weekly and monthly lineup at Myles of Beans coffee shop. Having outgrown these venues, Four Lane Change is poised to enter the downtown Vancouver/Seattle music scene.
