Event Description

. Friday, Jan 26th IMU presents EDMUND, WINDOWS '78, SK ROBOT & BAD MOVES @ The MEDIA CLUB, 695 Cambie . 8pm / $10

BAD MOVES - Featuring members of Vancouver's Locator, Bad Moves found themselves writing fun songs described as sounding "like squirrels mating in the heat of spring". Influenced by Spoon, Interpol, Pavement, Pinback, Pixies, Yo la Tengo, Les Savy Fav, Chaka Khan, The Scatman, yr mommy & Latin Gangster Rap, you can expect the unexpected from this decidedly tongue-firmly-in-cheek band. http://myspace.com/badmoveswow

WINDOWS '78 - Recently described as "somewhere between Spiritualized and Pink Floyd" (The Province) and "a new successor to the mantle of melancholy modern rock" (Prairie Dog), Windows '78 dynamically explore a unique fusion of moody, guitar-driven rock and ambient electronica, delivering an innovative sound that appeals equally to humans, Martians and robots. Their recent debut CD "The Window Seat" showcases the premier space rock act as they craft a rich, evocative sound that weaves together melodic guitar lines, subtly deployed electronic loops and masterful playing. http://www.windows78.com

EDMUND play intelligent rock/pop music inspired by artists like The Beatles, The Cure, Radiohead, The Smiths, Death Cab and David Bowie. Come listen to stellar tunes from "Behave", their recent debut CD release! http://www.myspace.com/edmundband

S.K. ROBOT - featuring members of Bossanova, Cinderpop, Speedbuggy, The Liars and Space Kid, S.K. Robot creates addictive harmony and hook-laden pop/rock that sounds both fresh and familiar. http://www.myspace.com/skrobotrocks
