About

Rosette Guitar Duo

Balancing intricate counterpoints and sophisticated harmonies, the Rosette Guitar Duo create an air of calm with their soothing melodies. Their sound is an eclectic merging of classical, world, jazz, and popular song that is fresh in its approach and intent. This elegant duo understands that both music and life are fine arts and strive to treat both with care and attention.

Guitarists Kevin Marsh and Michael Lyngstad formed the Rosette Guitar Duo in the spring of 2001. This collaboration demonstrates ability while communicating beauty, peace, and joy. Their diverse appeal has allowed them to offer their musical finesse to such organizations as the Global Visions Film Festival, G6B, Rooftops Canada, the Edmonton Classical Guitar Society, and the Syncrude Nextfest, for whom the duo was commissioned to write a screenplay and music for a short film. They have performed live at numerous private functions, in formal concerts, on A-Channel television, on CJSR radio, and have a frequently-aired feature on Shaw cable television.

The Duo has composed and recorded a full-length compact disc entitled "Portage to Tunnel Mountain", which was released in June of 2003. This album has received airplay and praise from CBC radio nationally among other radio stations.

The Rosette Guitar Duo will be touring extensively in support of their CD delivering a message of kindness and hope through the beauty of their music. They are advocates of environmental and humanitarian causes, supporting these beliefs through music. As educators, the duo seeks to enlighten other guitarists and musicians about the finer aspects of the guitar and its endless possibilites. They are dedicated to developing as musicians and to showcasing Canadian talent to the world.
