Resistance Rising Choir
since circa 2018
In the face of environmental and social calamity, Resistance Rising Choir aims to inspire the kind of care that is so desperately needed in the world, by bringing the magic of harmony to the frontlines of environmental and social justice causes. Saltspring resident, Rama DelaRosa is the choir’s director. Currently, the choir has 16 members and is open to singers of all ages and genders.
The choir has performed at community events including a performance on the legislative grounds to halt the clear cutting of old growth forests on Vancouver Island as well as a fundraiser for the Salish Sea Protectors Fund. DelaRosa explained that the choir was “thrilled to be a part of this important event to protect the Salish Sea".
