Situated in The Cowichan Valley (warm land) this 14 acres Heritage property owes it’s name to a former owner of the property who used to call his wife the Gem of the Isle. Later on they named the property the same way, because it is a true gem. The old farmhouse was built somewhere around 1898 just after the cabin was constructed. After many previous owners we, Ben Verduin and Patty John, bought the property in 2001. We opened our SculptureGarden in June of 2002.
The garden of the Heywood farm was originally established in the 1950s by the late Mrs. Mary Heywood. When we bought the property in 2001 the garden was completely overgrown with weeds and the old rock garden was almost lost forever. We have worked ever since to bring back the original beauty of this garden. In June 2002 we opened the Sculpture Garden which displays Bronze sculptures from the Dutch Artist Ati Emmerik. Come and take a walk through the beautiful garden and enjoy the fine art in this wonderful relaxing setting. Al the artwork displayed is for sale and we serve tea on request.
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.

For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
