Has small-gymnasium-sized activity room that could fit upwards of 1-200 people if need be. Available very rarely.
Directions to venue: from downtown Victoria, head south on Douglas st. (in the direction of the museum, legislature, etc), turn right on Belleville st. Continue on Belleville past legislature, wax museum, and turn left on Oswego. Go about 5 blocks, on the right is an elementary school, the community centre is part of the same building. After about half a block, on the right there is a large lit up sign and the entrance to the JBCC, with a big sign reading "James Bay Community Centre 140 Oswego". Parking is either on the street or around the corner on Simcoe in the designated lot for the centre.
Bus directions:
- #30/31 James bay heading south on Douglas. This bus stops right in front of the JBCC (the most direct bus route).
- #11 Beacon Hill, (from Oak Bay/Cadboro Bay area)this goes on to Menzies. Get off at Simcoe (by the big Thrifty's) and you can walk two blocks down Simcoe to Oswego.
*This venue is NOT to be confused with similarly named places in James Bay - The James bay Youth Centre, or the James Bay Community project, neither of which are big enough to host shows.
