The culmination of an intensive seven-day program that explores the depths of contemporary music practices, the Vancouver Creative Music Institute (VCMI) Student/Faculty Showcase brings leading international practitioners of creative music together with some of the best and brightest innovative and emerging artists. This is a rare opportunity to hear up-and-coming creative musicians engage in collaborative music-making through improvisation, new compositional techniques, and the application of new technologies. Developed by Coastal Jazz & Blues Society in partnership with the Vancouver Community College School of Music, VCMI is dedicated to furthering creative music.
