The GVSF produces exciting productions of Shakespeare's plays in various beautiful outdoor locations around the traditional and unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ people. Since 1991, the GVSF has continued to create unique opportunities for local artists and involve local businesses, educators and citizens to celebrate Shakespeare in our community. Audience members of diverse ages, cultures, and economic backgrounds gather in local parks and gardens every summer to engage with these vibrant, relevant works. The GVSF education program, which has brought hands-on Shakespeare workshops to over 1500 students, now includes a podcast and a reading series.
“I had the good fortune to see this summer’s production of All’s Well and wanted to write and congratulate you on a marvelous performance. I have been going to theatre in Victoria for almost 15 years now ... Jemma Alix Levy’s All’s Well was a breath of fresh air -- well directed, acted, and produced, thoughtful and insightful, emotionally and intellectually engaging, a complete success. I am not one to write accolades after seeing a show but … I have become more and more grateful for the work you all do and the quality you all embrace. Thank you. I can’t wait to see more!”
