Papazeeta

Papazeeta is a Nanaimo, British Columbia based funk band who specialize in converting songs from other genres into funk/jazz tunes. Sources for their repertoire range from Thelonius Monk to The Average White Band. Deep grooves and enticing horn arrangements pepper their sound and bring audiences under their control. All arrangements are original versions of some of the greatest songs in western popular culture. Drawing inspiration from groups such as Medeski, Martin & Wood, Soulive, and Liquid Soul, Papazeeta aspires to play funk from a jazz perspective. Papazeeta is currently in the process of mixing down their debut release entitled "So Hip We Can't See Our Feet". Watch for it to hit the indy distribution circuit some time this summer.
