Hailing from the true north, Operation Winter Mist brings all its guns to bear with their own style of Canadian war metal. Using inspiration derived from their homeland and military history, they have forged in steel their own niche within the genre. Focusing upon the grim and bleak realities of war as well as the frozen Dominion of Canada, the music takes the listener to the frontlines of historical conflict using harsh sounds and engrossing fact based lyrics.Formed as a side project in 1998, the idea soon became an all encompassing passion of Panzer (vocals) and Nebelwerfer (guitar). The line up has since been solidified with Dreadnought (bass) and S. Tanner (drums) creating a formidable frontline assault. With three CD releases, “Winter Warfare” (Iron Coffin Productions), “Winter Warfare II” (Regimental Records), and most recently “Imperial Grand Strategy” (Die Todesrune Records), the band has proven itself a new force on the world metal scene. Drawing attention from high level genre publications (Metal Maniacs, Terrorizer, Unrestrained) as well as mainstream Canadian media (Sun Media Canada, Vue magazine), they have garnered attention on the world stage.
With burning eyes fixed upon their goal, Operation Winter Mist has laid the foundation for their worldwide domination campaign.
