About

No Ground

NoGround, Arriving from amidst of the illustrious suburbs of Washington State’s South King County, emerges the cure for the stale sounds which have been so mercilessly crammed through the ears of the masses for too long. Fear not noble music lover for here is No Ground. No Ground offers the listener a variety of sounds, sights, smells, sensations, moods and other things specifically designed and engineered for maximum user comfort and pleasure. Hailing from such places as the volcanic plains of Mt. Ranier's Puyallup valley to the lush apartment complex jungles of Federal Way this group shares much Northwest diversity but call Seattle their home. And why shouldn’t they? After all, the list of Seattle’s musical accolades is long and distinguished. Though it barely needs mentioning, it has certainly not all been written. Enter No Ground; this talented, energetic and well experienced Seattle rock band has been roaming Northwest stages for many years under multiple names. Formerly known as AfterAll they have been playing live, original tunes for near a decade and are beginning to exercise their prime. The evolution of AfterAll to No Ground begins with the talented yet disruptive percussion section of Federal Way High School's Symphonic Band. There, founding members and high school band drummers Sean Morrison and Joe Lester recruited Travis "kramer" Bergner. A symphonic bassoon player and introduced him to the bass clef instrument he would soon come to love. After years of playing locally as AfterAll and releasing the full length album 'What You Want' a trademark infringement with the apparent "real" After All forced the young band back to the drawing boards and eventually to go their separate ways. In the summer of 2009 flying under the name No Ground, Sean hit the studio to record his new Album 'Blind Leading Blind'. This album, recorded primarily by Sean and Joe, illustrates the diversity and love of music these young men possess. ‘Blind Leading Blind’ guides the listener seamlessly through moods and genres for a complete album experience. With a new record hot off the presses and in need of a band Sean once again looked to Kramer to fill in the low end. Dragging along friend and once eclectic metal guitar player Tony Costanzo they began practice in early 2009. Tony's jazz roots, creative melodys and head bobbing rhythm figures would turn out to be the edge the group needed. On February 20, 2009 at the Showbox at the Market No Ground officially released ‘Blind Leading Blind’. The band proceeded to hit clubs hard, exciting fans around Seattle and the Northwest. The high was short lived however as the band had to part with their founding drummer and friend Joe Lester. After a couple trials and a short hiatus a classic ‘friend of a friend’ instance brought The Kid (Devin) into the picture. His positive attitude and youthful exuberance combined with a wealth of natural ability made him the clear choice to fill the void in the rhythm section. For the past several months the guys have been honing their act and look forward to hitting the road in the spring and summer of 2010! With a precise and energetic stage show that turns heads at every venue these true rock artists will be leaving lasting impressions on fans near you soon! Record available on itunes and at cd baby.com No Ground is Sean Morrison, Kramer James, and Tony Costanzo.
