Marianne Trudel Quintet
Not yet 30, pianist Marianne
Trudel has already amassed what
seems like a lifetime of musical
experience. Equally fluent in
classical, jazz and free improv,
and boasting degrees in
everything from jazz arranging to
ethnomusicology, she is also a gifted composer and arranger
(aside from working with Chucho
Valdez and Hugh Fraser, she was
one of seven composers chosen
to study at the Henry Mancini
Institute where her first
composition for full orchestra was
performed). Playing fearless
improv, Trudel is a deft and
sublimely talented musician. Her
quintet includes Chet Doxas soprano
saxophone, Jonathan Stewart
tenor saxophone, Morgan Moore
bass and Kelby MacNayr drums.
