Listening Party was formed in November 2005 by Lindy Gerrard and Trenton Mclaren. Lindy also plays drum in fellow kill devil hills band, "Johnny and the Moon", and Victoria songwriter, Jon Middleton is also and part time member of the band. Based out of Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, Canada this three piece/duo combines the rythms of Africa, a blend of modern influences, and the rustic and sometimes haunting narratives of life on the lake. The best description they have recieved for their work is “World Music for Bad People”, which describes them fairly well. The name “LISTENING PARTY” comes from Trenton and Lindys relationship. Throughout highschool and to present day Trenton and Lindy have always gotten together for evenings of strickly music listening, all night and into the early morning.
Trenton and Lindy have been playing music together since the year 2000, and have developed a strong musical bond and a common musical ambition. Their recent recording “Who are we missing?” is a mix match of old and new songs about campfire tales and heart ache.
