Kelley Hunt

Once every decade a new, pure voice is heard in the R&B realm, and these days the hot producers and in-the-know session players are all shouting the praises of Kelley Hunt, a singer/songwriter/piano player with talent to burn. Hunt began building a reputation several years ago as she worked the blues festival circuit. Although traces of everyone from Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin to Ann Peebles and Professor Longhair can be heard, this electrifying keyboardist and searing vocalist is in many ways an R&B original. Hunt was a child prodigy on piano, but her performances are about passion as much as technique, and she has a knack for wowing any audience that gets within earshot.
