Kate Brooks-Heinimann’s work has been exhibited throughout British Columbia and Alberta and she has completed multiple artwork commissions within Canada and the United States. Kate was awarded scholarships to Parks Canada’s Art in the Park Artist Residency, and the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts Mentored Studio Residency. Kate received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC and previously completed her Certificate of Visual Arts at the Vancouver Island School of Art in Victoria, BC.
Kate lives and creates on Lekwungen Territory (Victoria, British Columbia). Her work is influenced by a deep affection for learning about wildlife and their habitats and sharing this knowledge with others through paintings. When not in her studio Kate spends her time teaching art, growing food and flowers, and exploring wilderness spaces.
