Erin Rogers Band
Born and raised in the small town of Ladner BC, Erin is the youngest of four childrenall of whom are very musically talented along with their mother Patricia who had them all playing instruments and harmonizing before they could even write.
Erin's brother Trevor is the lead singer and guitar player for the celtic/rock band "The Clumsy Lovers".
Erin began performing on the piano and singing at the age of three, often entertaining in pageants, local variety shows and at old folks homes. At the age of 8 she developed diabetes and ended up being bed-ridden off and on for several years because of it. Music was something that helped her cope with her illness, and whenever possible she would be found where she truly belonged- singing in local bands, sometimes with her brothers Mark and Trevor. In 1996 after finding out that her kidneys were about to fail completely, she underwent a fairly new procedure- a kidney and pancreas transplant. Her health greatly improved afterwards and she continued to pursue music with a passion.
In 1998, after the murder of her good friend Robert Helme, Erin re-wrote and re-recorded a song, which her brother Trevor had written in the 80's, to play at Rob's funeral. "Happened Too Soon" is the result. Because the accused was recently seeking parole after two years of a seven-year sentence, this song has received some attention. The song is a beautiful piano and string ballad with sweet angelic vocals that will pull on the heartstrings of anyone who has heard the story or has ever lost someone they care about.
Erin has been receiving some local press due to the release of her CD "Unaffected" and the song "Happened Too Soon". Those who have heard her sing are blown away by her powerful vocals mixed with her ability to have a crowd laughing one minute, then close to tears the next. Because people are hearing the story of Erin's triumph over her severe health problems and the sadness over the loss of Rob Helme, they have been eager to listen to her CD. The album consists of ten original songs all written by Erin Rogers and Brian Brands. Happened Too Soon is co-written by Trevor Rogers. Those who have had a chance to listen have given great reviews.
Erin's dream is to one day make the right connections to have someone in the music industry hear her music and think she may have what it takes to be a star!
