Our society was established in early 2012 and is dedicated to promoting the cultural vibrancy of downtown Victoria while highlighting the rich cultural traditions of our First Nation’s community. It is an honour for us to present our street painting festival on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish People of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.
The Victoria International Chalk Art Festival is primarily funded through government grants and corporate sponsorships. Through year round collaborative efforts within our community, we also receive significant in-kind assistance through various community partners who provide us with everything from lodgings assistance for our selected out-of-town artists to road closure materials. In addition we take this opportunity to acknowledge the many volunteers who each year make our festival possible through the generous donation of their time. Our volunteers perform duties that include everything from airport pickups and deliveries of visiting artists to being information booth attendants over our festival weekend.
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
Non-profit run and created by the community, ArtsVictoria.ca integrates current event listings and multimedia arts portfolios, and creates an explorable, living archive of the arts in Victoria BC.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
