About

Christine Jensen Quartet

Montreal-based Christine Jensen
has long-since earned an enviable
international reputation, both as
a composer and as a compelling
voice on alto and soprano
saxophone. After absorbing the
basics in Nanaimo’s awardwinning
school music program,
she went onto McGill before
“graduating” to a professional
career wowing crowds in the
United States, Europe and Japan.
Jensen has recorded several fine
CDs and has played with everyone
from Kenny Werner to Seamus Blake; she is now a certified star
of mainstream jazz, notable for
her wonderful tone and
interesting musical ideas. Please
join us in welcoming back a
festival favourite! She will be
playing with Dave Restivo piano,
Fraser Hollins bass and Greg
Ritchie drums.
“One of the most important
Canadian composers of her
generation.” –Globe and Mail
